List of non-profit partnerships

These are few charities that tug at the heart strings of the e-Partners in Giving Family. We encourage you to find a handful of charitable organizations that inspire you to give back.

Susan G. Komen For the Cure

MISSION/DESCRIPTION:
To eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.

IN HER OWN WORDS (Stefanie Lewis, director of giving):

"Every year over 40,000 lives are taken from breast cancer. In 1993 my Grandmother was one of those lives. This foundation is dedicated to finding a cause and a cure for breast cancer. Through their research and dedication we can have hope for a future where breast cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease."

The Children's Miracle Network

MISSION/DESCRIPTION:
Dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children¹s hospitals across North America.

IN HER OWN WORDS (Stefanie Lewis):

"As a mom of two, this charity really tugs at my heart. The Children's Miracle Network helps over 17 million children each year. They fund 170 hospitals in North America so they can provide the finest medical care and life-saving research."

Finding Grace Homeless Initiative (Presbyterian Night Shelter)

MISSION/DESCRIPTION:
To educate and inform the public about the realities of homelessness and to raise awareness about the issue. FGHI will serve as a spotlight on those organizations who are solving the problems, and a mouthpiece for their messages to the media.

IN HIS OWN WORDS (Drew Myers, president & CEO):

"I had volunteered at Presbyterian Night Shelter here in Fort Worth during the holiday seasons, but when I was introduced to Lynn Blodgett's images in the book "The Face Of America's Homeless," I realized I needed to do more. Blodgett's emphasis and involvement in Finding Grace Homeless Initiative motivated me to spend a couple hours at the shelter every week. It's a very special experience every Tuesday night, because all the residents are very appreciative and aren't afraid to express it with words or a big smile."

Run For Congo Women (Women for Women International)

MISSION/DESCRIPTION:
Helps women in war-torn regions rebuild their lives by giving them financial and emotional support, job skills training, rights education, access to capital and assistance for small business development.

IN HIS OWN WORDS (Drew Myers):

"My affection for running and the incredible passion of founder Lisa Shannon is contagious and made me aware and intrigued by this ‘nightmare' in Africa. I continue to research on the Congo, but it was Shannon's enthusiasm to make a difference there that made me put this charity on my list.")

Marathon Kids

MISSION/DESCRIPTION:
To build a lifelong love of running and walking, combined with the ability to make and enjoy healthy food choices. We aim to help reduce childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes by moving children and their families from sedentary to non-sedentary lifestyles.

IN HIS OWN WORDS:

"While Marathon Kids is another way to show my love for running, it also gives me the opportunity to inspire kids - or just one kid - to put down the video game controller and/or turn off the TV. Running has changed my life, and I'm firmly convinced it can change someone else's - whether they're 10 years old or 70. I just want to help motivate one child to lace up their shoes, walk out the front door, and start running."
